Number of Muslims caught for offences drops, says Daud
KUCHING: The number of Muslims caught for not respecting the month of Ramadan in Sarawak has dropped by nearly 50 per cent this year compared to 2007.
Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Islamic Affairs) Datuk Daud Abdul Rahman said only 66 Muslim were caught for offences such as eating, drinking or smoking in public this year, compared to 126 last year.
Daud said he hoped the number of Muslims committing such offences will continue to decrease in time to come...
